Coming Together

I’m very much looking forward to our Annual Congregational Meeting on February 2. I hope you will make every effort to join the meeting either in person or on Zoom. We will have the opportunity to look back on and celebrate our ministry in 2024. We will also have the opportunity to look forward to our ministry together in 2025.

In fact, the evening before our Congregational Meeting, many of us will be participating in the Village of Mount Prospect’s annual gala at which Grace will be recognized for the community impact of our Grace Garden. It’s great to be known in our community as a congregation that translates what we say into tangible action on behalf of our neighbors. We will, in turn, help to shine the light on our partners, the Wheeling Township and NorthWest Compass pantries that distribute our produce during the growing season as well as our significant contributions throughout the year.

At our Congregational Meeting we will receive reports from the various committees and other working groups that month after month carry out their respective parts of our mission. We will also consider our congregational budget for 2025 as a reflection of our priorities. And, lastly, we will elect a new cadre of congregational leaders for the year ahead.

I hope that prior to the meeting you will read our annual report and be prepared to raise any questions or concerns you may have. We are blessed to be a part of a community that respectfully discusses issues vital to our church life. We may not always agree on everything, but we have learned how to discuss those differences in an environment of mutual respect.

One more thing: our Annual Congregational Meeting gives us a chance to express deep thanks to all our leaders – staff and volunteers – who make our ministry possible.

In the love, joy, peace, and hope of Christ,

Pastor Daniel Schwick
